Our Programs

National Training Centre Programs

National Training Centre (NTC) Programs are delivered in conjunction with the relevant National and State sporting organisations. Identified athletes enter these programs based on the sports recommendations and have access to all TIS services.

Elite Development Programs

Elite Development Programs (EDP) are a partnership between the TIS and the relevant sport. Identified athletes are overseen in their daily training environment by a coach/program coordinator, (endorsed by the sport) while the TIS provides support as required for program specifics and delivery.

Tigers Hockey Academy

The Tigers Hockey Academy is the talent pathway for Tasmania’s junior hockey players into the Tassie Tigers program.

Individual Support Program

The TIS Individual Support Program (ISP) purpose is to provide opportunities for performance progression to Tasmanian elite athletes in sports where the TIS does not deliver or partner in a program.

TIS Associate Athletes

An athlete competing as a professional in a TIS supported sport who is based interstate or overseas and maintains a mutually beneficial relationship with the TIS. An athlete who held a TIS High Performance (HP) Scholarship and has moved interstate to further their sporting opportunities and is subsequently supported by the interstate State Institute of Sport/State Academy of Sport (SIS/SAS).
