Paris 2024 - Results from Day 4

Tasmanian rower Alexandra Viney and her crew finished fifth at the Paralympic Games.

The sole Tasmanian competing in Paris, the Launceston-born 32-year-old was gracing her second consecutive Paralympic A-final having finished fourth in Tokyo three years ago.

In another highly-competitive PR3 mixed coxed four showdown at the Vaires-sur-Marne Stadium, the crew of Viney in seat two plus Tom Birtwhistle, Susannah Lutze, Tobiah Goffsassen and cox Hannah Cowap were competing from lane six.

The race was again dominated by Great Britain who are unbeaten in 15 years in the event and secured a fourth consecutive gold medal.

The Brits led throughout to win in 6:55.30 with the US (6:58.59) taking silver for the third Games running and host nation France (7:03.11) edging out Germany for bronze.

Having clocked 6:55.47 in the repechage and 7:02.74 in their heat, the Aussies recorded a time of 7:14.78 to finish just ahead of Italy.
